Sevilla v. Rijeka – Fighting for Our European Lives

The rest of the group phase no longer matters.  It comes down to this single game.  Tie or win and we’re through.  Lose and we’re out.

These sorts of games should make me tense given our continued European adventure is at stake.  But its also the type of game against an inferior opponent (with all due respect) at home where if we lose, then we certainly didn’t deserve to go through.  There will be absolutely no excuse for not getting the result we need at the very least.

Perhaps I’m feeling a bit jaded because this should’ve been our group to win, and yet a dip in form handed it over to Feyenoord.  But who knows, maybe Liege will do us a solid and take some points away from Feyenoord and give us an opening to take back that first seed.  I suppose we’ll see.

Three notable injuries with Krycho, Tremoulinas, and Iborra all out.  Here’s the list:

Beto, Sergio Rico, Coke, Diogo, Fernando Navarro, Carriço, Pareja, Arribas, Mbia, Banega, Denis, Aleix Vidal, Reyes, Vitolo, Deulofeu, Iago Aspas, Gameiro y Bacca

Anyway, lets keep our recent good results going maybe even play some attractive football in the process.
