Granada really shouldn’t even be in La Liga this season. But thanks to us, and probably the two most awful matches of last season, we somehow lost to this team twice and they avoided the drop by one point. Losing at Nuevo Las Carmenes was surprising, but they caught us on the counter a couple of times. That happens. Losing 4-1 to this team at home, on the other hand, seems pretty match-fixy, even if we were playing a bunch of canteranos and Llorente.
This isn’t the same Granada club as last season though. Everyone’s favorite manager in theory, Paco Jemez, got canned before he even had to pay his second rent check. Isaac Success and Fran Rico are gone. And they’re the worst team in the league by far. Atleti thrashed them but they still only lost 1-0 at the Camp Nou. It’s no guarantee given our history and our away tendencies.
Here’s our starting 11 (formation is a complete shot in the dark, since @SevillaFC has put on their sweatpants and completely given up on trying to deliver the lineup in anything other than a random list this season)
Correa is rewarded for a ridiculously good Copa match where he scored 3 and drew 2 penalties. Kranevitter starts again, and he’s been sneaky good over the last 3 weeks or so. He’s never gonna make highlight plays, but his defensive positioning has improved and he’s allowed Nzonzi to get forward more. Mudo plays because he can’t play midweek after his stupid red card against Juve. Mariano’s back, thankfully.
Bench: Sirigu, Kolo, Kiyo, Iborra, Ganso, Sarabia, Ben Yedder
